The aim is to increase independence and self reliance whilst providing a level of support consistent with each individuals function and capacity.
This program is funded on an individual basis by Disability SA for those who live independently in the community, or in some instances share with another person with a disability. Each person has specific requirements for which we are contracted to provide appropriate support, in order that they live and interact positively in their communities. The aim is to increase independence and self reliance whilst providing a level of support consistent with each individuals function and capacity.
Some typical areas of support include:
• Household management
• Menu planning and nutritious meal preparation
• Budgeting and shopping
• Reading mail and information from workplaces
• As well as a range of individually specific activities
As Community Support only provides a few hours of individual support each week, individuals who receive this support usually demonstrate a functional capacity greater than those who are in an accommodation support situation.
It is customary for each individual to be assigned a specific support worker with skills and understandings relevant to the person’s situation.
All referrals for Community Support are through Disability SA and are dependent upon any current vacancies being available.
For individuals with an NDIS package please feel free to contact us during business hours for information regarding accessing our services.
